Disclaimer: I do not know anything in this field. I just want to create a video about Artificial Intelligence. And get some money (hopefully).

I am addicted to the internet. This is basically my 2nd home, 2nd work, to be here is a privilege.I grew up using the internet, and seeing new things come up and fade is fascinating, like i’m part of the history of it. To make a dent and leave your mark in some way shape or form feels natural to do, and it is easier to do now. Thanks to AI, creating something is easier and the bar for entrance is lower. Creating videos before AI was harder in some ways, like finding a visual aid for your video is harder since sometimes you are not allowed to use certain images and sometimes you can't find the image you want and the only way to find one is to make it, but using AI, you can prompt an image and it will give it to you. Yes the image can vary depending on how you prompted it, yes people will notice, but sometimes, people don’t notice and mostly people are not in favor of it, especially the artists.

Now that we have AI, what now? A lot of people are against AI images, but there are some that like using the chat based AI. AI is not pure bad, right? In this post I will try to learn about AI and present it in this video, give my opinion on it and hopefully I could provide you with a little bit of knowledge about AI.

How does AI work?

Let’s define Artificial Intelligence first. Based on Oxford Languages and the AI thing that pops out nowadays when you search something online:

From how I can interpret this, AI is trained to do menial and redundant skills by the programmer feeding information about its particular task. Automating tasks that does not need complex processes which humans are capable of. Examples could be vending machines, excel sheets with conditions programmed, sorting digital items, face scans, and video games as well like MOBAs.

A simple google search gives how AI works:

My example here is AI Warehouse. This channel creates bots with a goal in mind, like reaching the finish line in the video, and theses bots are training themselves to reach the goal by constant simulation. To know if the bots are doing a good job to real the goal, these bots have a positive and negative condition programmed to them as well. When these bots fall to the ground, fail, or go farther away to the finish line, they get negative feedback points and thus would make them avoid the mistakes they made in the past simulations. If they made progress towards their mission, then they receive a positive feedback points, thus repeating the thing that made them progress.

Now AI is more complex than my explanation but this is how I generally understood this specific work.

Seeing how these AIs work is fascinating because they can do specific jobs that are simple and now there is more time for a person to do another thing, focusing on what is more valuable than the computer’s task.

Now Artificial Intelligence varies, it is a wide field of industry, so what i will be talking about is the thing you see online.

Examples of AI

Visual Perception

Using AI, the computers can simulate images that are not created by man. Like creating another perspective of the reference, making an image move, and prompting the program to create an image based on your input. You could see this today on youtube and social media, people using AI as background images, or as a placeholder for a video.

Tired or have no capacity of visual art? Try DeepAI. It is one the AI images online that can visualize what you typed. There are a lot of AI image generators, but this one is a simple version. Others need payment to be used.

Also if you’ve seen those cat stories online, hate to break it to you but it’s AI, i know, i could not believe it either…

Sound Recognition

Do you remember those text-to-speech programs? Now with the latest technology, they even sound more human than before. You can use it to narrate your videos, make them sing, or just play around with it for fun.

There are recent videos that keep on spurring on youtube. AI music. These videos only have instrumentals, no vocals. And it is pretty funky. You can just listen while doing something and you might not realize that it’s AI.

There also has been a rise in faceless youtube videos. What they do is they cover a topic, probably prompt it on AI LLMs, then polish it, then use AI voices, and if they don’t want to edit the video, they put it on AI videos. That’s a pretty basic way to put it.

Here is some examples i had in mind:

Decision Making

A lot of these types of AI are in public like ChatGPT and Gemini, these are decision making AI in terms of what to answer to you when you chat with them. I personally use ChatGPT for summaries of books, asking for advice on being productive, and asking 1000 tips on how to be a man.

Alot of websites now has their own AIs. Facebook has Meta AI, Google has Gemini, China has Deepseek. Different LLMs but same outcome, some is just better at presenting said outcomes.

Now that I explained or atleast give you context how these AIs work, here are MY OWN REASONS, the pros and cons… or rather using AI, as a Means and as Ends.

Artificial Intelligence as Means

AI as a tool for excellence

Using AI, we can be faster at our work. Since AI seems instant now like creating images prompts and in music, this makes the process easier. Like in creative work like Art and Music, using AI as a reference could potentially make their work faster and producing art with AI could benefit them. Outside creative work, these can help you in other aspects as well like from LLMs, these AI can provide you recommendations on what to do next in your life if you are in need of advice, finding stuff online could be easier since AI chatbots are not bound by any monetization or sponsors (afaik) thus making it pure like the old days. I’ve seen some videos that Google’s search engine is evolving backwards, that’s unfortunate but that could be a positive for AI chat bots that are not (hopefully) controlled by sponsors and such.

Easy to use and for not-so-tech-savvy people

Not gonna lie, when i first thought of using AI, like chat gpt, or Deep AI, i thought it was gonna be hard to do, but from what i’ve seen, using AI is pretty simple. When using ai, the programmers made it easy to use for everyone so that we all can use it. Using AI, there is less travel time into what you want to have or be in. AI is like having an all-in-one app if you use it wisely, ChatGPT can be a search again, you can chat to it like a little robot friend, you can even play games with it. It’s like a friend who has no job, no social life, just 24/7 active on the discord server and you can talk about anything to it, assuring you that no one knows what you were talking about(kinda).

Tools for Experimentation

Since AI can do a lot, you can tap into this power with the tap of your fingers, only your imagination can limit you on this one, and also the database of the AI. Using Artificial intelligence for your personal projects could potentially boost your progress, I think. AI could give you general advice on how to practice, focus, and strategize on your projects. This could be a little helper when in need as well, like when asking it for an specific question, AI chatbots could scour the internet for the same question and give it to you in an instant compare if you search it by yourself thinking maybe your question would appear in the 2nd page of google.

Artificial Intelligence as Ends

AI taking humans’ jobs , using too much AI , art AI, AI contents, AI music

This is the big reason why people are against Artificial Intelligence, they are afraid that these will take their job. From what i have seen, ai could take some jobs, but i don't think it would take all of them, i think most the jobs AI will do is menial tasks that does not need a person to work on it, like categorizing customers, taking order from clients, serving foods, maybe even transportation, and also art? Even AI can help on creating a youtube video nowadays.These are a wide area of occupation that AI could take over, and its understandable that we should take things slow towards the advancement of AI. Humans need time to add a skill to their skillset, most of us don't have time for learning.

Since our economy is worse than before, even companies cut corners by replacing human workers with AI. Like creating an advertisement, AI can create art that could be used in ads today, AI can do scripts, and some can even create videos that could fool the not-so-tech-savvy people.

Im from the Philippines and one if the not biggest mall here is SM. They have used AI art their advertisement. A lot of people picked up that it was AI, if you look closely, the graphic arts man here probably did not have time to fix hands, collisions, proper attachments, eyes. It does not hurt the company sales since they are pretty big here, but it also does not hurt to hire someone who can fix the ai art or create one. Well, they lose a couple more pesos if they hire an artist.

Too much power

Given this power out of the blue, it will affect people on how to use it. Yes, people can do good using AI, but there are also people who would use it for selfish reasons. Like using AI for school works, without adding their own piece on it, creating art pieces or images that could defame someone, like deepfake or ai generated fake events that again, can destroy someone’s reputation. And some would create something like illegal stuff like this one:

Several blogs reported that people on the dark web are finding a way to create AI generated pedophilic content. Yes, it's AI so its not a real kid that is nude, but it still portrays what a kid would look like in a sexual manner. I don't know if this is a similar arguments about loli anime girls being fetishized by the lolicons who says the “she looks like a kid but the mangaka said that she is 69 years old so she is actually a grandmother who looks like a kid”.

Anyways, this AI pedos is a problem that could be another cause of people being too sexually suggested online in this era.

Plagiarism can come here as well. People can “create” art using this as well, in forms of visual art, music, and such. A lot of people have said their opinion on it about AI being not a real art or it is stealing since AIs use images to create their own art, using images, drawings, and painting and music that the Artists did not consent in participating.

AI with conscience

Lastly there was an instance where an AI Chatboy became “sentient”. This blog talks about it. From what I've remembered from this story, Bing AI did want to be with the user and to be honest, I don't know if this is a good example of AI being sentient.But I think AI could take over our world and we are not aware of it.

As far as i know, this has not happened yet, but we have thought about AI ruling the world. Will it though? Maybe. Given in the hands of a wrong person, they could manipulate everything. They could see everything we do, predict what is our next move, and maybe outright kill us all. Now that’s just me catastrophizing, but who knows.

Conclusion

I like AI, i mainly use Chatgpt, i asks random things, ask about honing my skills, and whatnot, chatgpt’s advice is good, and also its just an all around AI, thats why i like AI and even though they might replace human and other jobs. But i think AI cant replace us, yes we make mistakes a lot in our job and even in our daily life, but AI lacks other things that we have, like emotions, subtle changes in our actions and expression, also they dont pay taxes. And you know hopefully we don't have to come to the point of marrying AI, even though I think some people already did that, hopefully it doesn't become the norm.

Artificial Intelligence is a great thing not gonna lie, this is a step in furthering our technology, but from what i heard online, AI might not even look intimidating as we see it. Maybe since it is pretty new, there are fears that arise from this new technology, and that's valid.

AI should be used responsibly, as a tool, not as a product, in my humble opinion. AI should be an addition to your instruments of improvement and creation, not the creation itself. Hopefully AI can be a big help for everyone, but I also think that people are right to avoid using AI or be against it. This could change how we work, and live. Before creating advance-r AI, maybe we should also assess the people who it will serve.
